Race Manager 25 mile TT G25/53 Open race result - 27th September 2009

Race Manager 25 mile TT G25/53 race result - 13th September 2009

Thanks very much to Peter for doing all the results again this year & timing all of our evening time trials. Stephen Emmerson was a clear winner of the final Inter-Club event from Simon Neave. In the season long points competitions, Stephen had won all seven events that he had ridden, so from six qualifying events he had the maximum 72 points. Race Manager Hill climb GH/41 race result - 18th August 2009

It was a sunny & warm evening, a bit different to some of our Hill Climbs held on autumn mornings when it has been very cold with frost on the fields opposite the start. It was a clear win for Simon Donne improving almost 5 seconds on his previous best time, also what must be a record was four members inside 3 minutes. Race Manager 25 mile TT G25/53 race result - 2nd August 2009

Another event where the roads were still wet but drying out from rain overnight. There was a light westerly wind and although it looked a good morning most riders times were down on the last inter-club on this course in June. Stephen Emmerson was the winner by over a minute from Simon Donne, and with this ride is now unbeatable for the Inter-Club Points Competition with maximum points from six events. Race Manager 10 mile TT G10/42 race result - 28th July 2009

Yet another windy evening, but at least it was dry. A very good ride by Brian Molloy in the conditions, winning by just over a minute & also fastest on handicap. With most riders around two minutes slower than their best times this season, Nick McCormick took the handicap award with a ride only a minute from his best.

Race Manager 10 mile TT G10/57 race result - 21st July 2009

Yet another event this year with damp roads and a westerly wind, the showers having stopped late afternoon as had been forecast. It was very humid, but the return from the turn into the wind wasn't as hard as riders riders were expecting. Not a very big turnout, probably because of the weather, for this normally popular final Club event of the season on this faster course. A rather damp evening but at least the wind had dropped by the time the event started. Another win for Stephen Emmerson, and Peter Kemp did a good ride to win first handicap.

Race Manager 10 mile TT G10/57 race result - 4th July 2009

Saturday morning driving down to Horsham we went into mist which finally cleared after the event, so the air was a bit cool before the event. There was a very slight wind against on the way back from the turn. Stephen Emmerson won the Inter-Club event with South Western RC riders filling the next three places. Phil Cresswell who was equal forth and did a personal best by 55 seconds was beaten to the Epsom handicap prize by Michael Groom who has been making big improvements this season after onl… Continue

Race Manager 25 mile TT G25/47 race result - 12th July 2009

There were wet roads after overnight rain, but it was bright and sunny with a westerly breeze. Stephen Emmerson was the winner by eleven seconds from Simon Donne on this little used course that starts at South Holmwood. Stephen was also fastest on handicap time, with Nick McCormick in second place taking the Epsom CC handicap award.

Race Manager 10 mile TT G10/42 race result - 30th June 2009

Tuesday evenings '10' on the Holmwood course was warm with a light easterly wind after a very hot day windy day. Stephen Emmerson did the fastest time with Nick McCormick second with Peter Kemp fastest on handicap time. The riders times generally did not appear to be as fast as sometimes expected with the very warm conditions.

Race Manager 50 mile TT G50/53 race result - 28th June 2009

The Club '50' was held in the Southern Counties CU event over two laps of the 25 mile course at Horsham. It turn out to be a bright and sunny morning, warm with a very light easterly breeze, with a number of riders doing a faster second lap. Brian Molloy with his best time since 2004 was a clear winner of our event from Andy Ellis who did a personal best. Race Manager 15.3 mile TT GS/483 race result - 23rd June 2009

A nice warm evening with a northerly wind. Stephen Emmerson was back on his Orbea bike experimenting with a different set up. It must have worked, as he improved 1 minutes 22 seconds on his ride 3 weeks ago, to win the event from Nick McCormick. Michael Groom took his second handicap prize this year by almost 2 minutes.

Race Manager 10 mile TT G10/57 race result - 16th June 2009

The evening turned out for our second event running, to be sunny & warm with a light south east wind, after it being much stronger earlier in the day. There was our biggest turn-out of the year with 18 members competing on a fast evening with Brian Molloy on fixed wheel fastest from Stephen Emmerson. Race Manager 25 mile TT G25/53 race result - 14th June 2009

Sunday turned out to be a nice sunny & warm morning with a light westerly wind, but not as fast as riders had hoped. Simon Donne after some recent good rides, won his first Inter-Club Event with a personal best by just one second. Simon Neave also with a personal was second & third place was Phil Cresswell completing the hat-trick, improving 1 minute 16 seconds to take the Epsom CC handicap award. Race Manager 10 mile TT G10/57 race result - 6th June 2009

After some rain during the night, there was some light rain before the start on Saturday morning, but apart from wet roads, riders got round without getting too wet. Riders were cautious on the many roundabout especially after a warning that there was oil on the road at the turn. There was a light easterly wind making for a faster ride on the return from the turn at Crawley.
